Imperial Palace Parks

Kitanomaru-koen and Higashi-gyoen are two large parks on the northern edge of the Imperial Palace grounds. Scattered about the park are several museums and the remnants of some buildings that were part of the original Edo castle. It took me several attempts, but I did eventually stumble on Kitanomaru-koen. I was impressed by the natural appearance of this park and the large number of ravens flying about.

Here are some pictures taken on a wet morning later in our trip when Lisa, Tiffany, and I wandered through Higashi-gyoen. The wall is all that is left of a prison that was destroyed by fire long ago.
