Asakusa

Walt's brother Paul happened to be passing through Tokyo on his way to Manila so we spent a day together visiting Asakusa. The main attraction is the Senso-ji Temple and the large number of little shops that surround it. There is also a 5 story pagoda. We happened to catch a street performance by a young woman and an ape with an attitude. We also found a cat sleeping on a restaurant sign. Yes, he really is alive. We saw him breathing. The building with the curious golden object on top is across the river from the water taxi stand. The tourist literature insists it is a golden flame, but I think it looks more like a yam.

I never got tired of wandering around the area and going through the little shops. Here are some pictures taken on the day when Lisa, Tiffany, and I were there.
